What is the Accuplacer Writeplacer? The ACCUPLACER includes the WritePlacer exam, which is the ACCUPLACER essay test. On this portion of the test you are given a writing prompt/scenario and are evaluated on organization, focus, development and support, sentence structure, and mechanical conventions. It is recommended that the student construct a 5 paragraph essay. Scores on WritePlacer range from 1 to 8.
The Accuplacer Writeplacer is deemed an alternative Standardized Assessment for graduation. Students must be awarded a 5 out of an 8 to qualify for graduation. ELL students must receive a 4 out of a 6 to qualify.
