This is a picture of me before my graduation from Montclair State University in 2013!
Mr. Markos is wrapping up his ninth year teaching middle school and his sixth year at Colonia Middle School. He serves as the Boys Volleyball coach and is an advisor for both the Math Club and the Fire Bowl Competition. He graduated from Montclair State University in 2013 and completed his MA at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2020. A passionate sports fan, he enjoys staying active, traveling, and reading in his spare time.
In his 6th and 7th grade Robotics classes, students don’t just learn, they design, build, test, and problem-solve as they take on exciting, hands-on challenges that bring STEM concepts to life. From coding robots, to completing tasks, and to working in teams to tackle challenges...every class is an opportunity to think creatively and try something new! Not every robot works perfectly the first time; and that’s all part of the fun! Students are encouraged to experiment, learn from mistakes, and keep improving...with maybe a few laughs along the way!
Above all, Mr. Markos is dedicated to creating a classroom environment where students feel motivated, supported, and excited to learn each day. He encourages curiosity, teamwork, and perseverance, helping students build not only academic skills but also confidence in themselves! Whether in the classroom, on the court, or at competitions, he takes pride in helping students discover their strengths and reach their full potential! He looks forward to another awesome school year filled with growth, innovation, and success...and hopefully a few robots that cooperate on the first try!
