Class Overview
United States History II R/S are survey courses that intend to prepare students to live and be responsible citizens in an ever-changing world. These courses are designed to introduce students to the political, economic, and cultural challenges, conditions, and changes of the past that have contributed to our present-day society. Beginning with the post-Civil War era, students will trace the major events that shaped America from the turn of the Twentieth Century and beyond. These courses will teach continuity and change; respect for rights and abilities of the individual, concern for the welfare of others and tolerance of differences among peoples. The following are incorporated in the units of study: economics, geography, literacy in social studies, the use and analysis of primary sources, and the history of the United States, New Jersey, and the World.
