"National Inclusion Week" or the Week of Respect is an opportunity for all schools in New Jersey to focus on cultivating and supporting positive school climates for students, staff, and your school community! In other words, it is a celebration of togetherness and recognizes inclusion in all its forms. The goal of the Week of Respect is to provide an opportunity to build an inclusive school culture where all students feel part of the school community. It highlights the importance of inclusive practices, especially within our schools, to educate students on their role in the quest for equality.

Week of Respect

In 2011, New Jersey signed into law the New Jersey Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, a policy created by the New Jersey Legislature that combats bullying in public schools across the state. The Week of Respect, which grew out of the Act, is held annually to raise awareness, educate, and advocate against harassment, intimidation and bullying.
