Students may check out a new library book each week during Media Studies class, provided the previous book has been returned.
To see which book you borrowed, log into Destiny Discover, then go to My Stuff. (username = typically firstname.lastname melissa.dabrowski or firstinitiallastname mdabrowski [you can also check Classlink and copy everything before the @ symbol in your email address] and password = ID number)
Parents/guardians: Please try to be aware of your child’s Media Studies day and designate a safe spot for library books at home.
RETURN ON TIME: Please bring your books back to the media center by their due date so others can enjoy them too.
REPORT DAMAGE: If your book gets damaged or a page tears, hand it to the media specialist. We use special materials for repairs.
PROTECT YOUR BOOK: Carry books in a plastic bag in your backpack to keep them clean and dry.
USE A BOOKMARK: Keep your spot with a bookmark instead of folding the page corner.
BE GENTLE: Turn pages carefully by the top or bottom corners.
STORE SAFELY: Keep books away from younger siblings, pets, food, and drinks.
SHOW RESPECT: Never write, color, or add glue inside a library book.
KEEP CLEAN: Clean hands help keep books looking new!
Thank you for taking care of our library books!
Our library program not only encourages a love of reading, but also teaches the importance of responsibility. Taking care of borrowed materials and returning them on time are valuable life skills. Your cooperation in helping your child develop personal responsibility with library books is greatly appreciated.
The following district rules will be enforced in the library:
If a book is lost or badly damaged, we will request the replacement cost of the book. You may send in cash or a check made out to Wedgwood School Fund for the amount of the book.
If your child's book has been lost or damaged, please message me in Parent Square or email me at mdabrowski@wtps.org for the replacement cost.
Students will receive a Media Studies grade on their report cards twice a year. The grade reflects participation, effort, classwork, and special projects.
