Eddie’s Got backup

Within the walls of Cedar Cliff there is a security guard named Eddie and a new resource officer named Mike. Mike was added this year to give support to Eddie.

First Eddie was asked how it was his first year, and what he thought of Mikes added to the security team.

He said “ it was good very good” second question has anything changed or gotten better with the behavior of the students? He said “ yes they are a lot more respectful than last year, the kids who were bad last year are a lot better this year.”

Third and last question do you think the tasers are necessary or not ? He replied “ we had to get through training to be able to carry these, and the tasers are not to be used on you guys. It is for what comes into protection.

Next I asked Mike some questions. The First question was  when  coming to Cedar Cliff did you get what you were expecting? He said “ yes I was working the streets for three years and getting called in versus now the behavior of the students is much better.”

The second question was how do you think the students feel about you not knowing that the taser is to protect us and not to be used on us? He said “I have not tased anyone yet in my whole time in the force, and I think my goal is to create a relationship with the students and the community.”

The third and last question was If there was anything you could change about the security system, what would it be? He said “ there would be less movement in and out of the building from teachers and students, because it gives someone an opportunity to come into the school and hurt the staff and students.” So in the end if you see Mike or Eddie in the halls just stop and say thank you for all they do.
