Groups: Grouping should be determined by ability not by age.
Group 1 - Rovers: (non-competitive group) we will develop activities based on registered students' abilities.
Group 2 - Starters: Starters have questions with mixtures of 5 & 10 compliments at the same time (limited double synthesis). Three rounds; all questions are single digits with either 5, 6, or 10 addends/subtrahends. Space Race questions are single digits with 5, 7, or 10 addends/subtrahends. Starters Practice Exam
Group 3 - Movers: Movers have a limited number of questions with mixtures of 5 & 10 compliments at the same time (limited double synthesis). For one round, questions are single digits with 10 addends/subtrahends. Two rounds, questions are a mixture of single and double digits with 10 addends/subtrahends. One round has double digits with 6 addends/subtrahends. Space Race has mixed digits with 5, 7, or 10 addends/subtrahends. Movers Practice Exam
Group 4 - Riders: Riders have two rounds with mixed single and double digits with either 5 or 10 addends/subtrahends. One round has double digits with 10 addends/subtrahends. Group 5 - Flyers: Flyers have one round of questions with double digits questions with 10 addends/subtrahends. Two rounds are multiplication: one with 2 digits by 1 digit and one with 3 digits by 1 digit. One round is division with 2 digits divided by 1 digit and 3 digits divided by 1 digit. Group 6 - Blasters: Blasters have one round with triple digits and 6 addends/subtrahends. Two rounds are multiplication: one with 2 digits by 2 digits and one with 3 digits by 2 digits. Two rounds are division with 3 digits divided by 1 digit and 4 digits divided by 1 digit. Space Race has double digits with 5, 7, or 10 addends/subtrahends. Blasters Practice Exam
How to determine group level: Read the Placement Exam Instructions first. Give the student 20 minutes to take the placement exam (Large Print Exam Questions, Nemeth Exam Questions). Grade the exam (Exam Answers). Give the student 2 points for each correct answer. If the student scores 45-52 points they should be a Blaster, if they score 36-44 points they should be a Flyer, if they score 26-35 points they should be a Rider, if they score 18-25 points they should be a Mover, if they score 9-18 points they should be a Starter, and if they score 0-8 points they should be a Rover.

Apollo: All groups participate.
Artemis: Starters and Rovers do not participate in this round.
Space Race: Rovers do not participate in this round.
