WBL Requirements

West Springfield High School Work-Based Learning experiences are either for one, two, or three periods of early release per school day. WBL experiences can be by semester or for the full school year. Students track their hours, both at work as well as in class to receive full credit for their internships. Additionally, all students participating in Work-Based Learning must complete two (2) separate MA WBL Plan reviews to receive full credit for the experience.

One Period: 70 hours per semester (5 credits)

Time of Early Release: 1:10 pm

Two Periods: 140 hours per semester (10 credits)

Time of Early Release: 12:20 pm

Three Periods: 210 hours per semester (15 credits)

Time of Early Release: 11:10 am
