I am delighted to return to Fausey Elementary School for my tenth year as a fourth grade teacher!
I grew up in Bangor, Maine with my parents and younger sister. I enjoyed being with my friends, reading, competitive swimming, and summers at my family camp on a lake. I have many memories of making my sister "play school," with me as the teacher of course!
After high school I participated in City Year, an AmeriCorps program for young adults. Throughout this volunteer year, my team wrote and taught a substance abuse prevention curriculum within public schools in Columbia, South Carolina. We also held an afterschool tutoring program for students.
I attended Clark University in Worcester for my undergraduate degree. I majored in Sociology and minored in Elementary Education. I earned my Masters in Urban Education and Teacher Research at Clark as well, graduating in 2003. My years at Clark allowed me to observe and co-teach in many different classrooms within the public schools.
I have taught grades 3, 4, and 5 in Charleston, SC, Dexter, ME, and Greenfield, MA before beginning at Fausey.
My daughter, Lane, is in tenth grade at the middle school and my son, Ben, will be in second grade here at Fausey!
I feel so lucky to be within the West Springfield community and look forward to the school year ahead!
