Documentation: The following documents are required for enrollment in West Springfield Public Schools (documentation can be uploaded into the online registration portal)
Birth Certificate/I-94
Immunization Records
Most Recent Physical Exam (must be within the last 12 months)
Proof of Residency
Proof of Occupancy
Proof of Identity
Former School Records: Including transcript/report card, test scores, ACCESS scores, attendance records and discipline records
If applicable, Custodial Agreement, IEP, 504 Accommodation Plan
All applicants must submit at least one document from EACH of the following categories.
A total of three (3) documents must be provided.
Copy of Deed
Copy of Most Recent Mortgage Statement or Payment
Copy of Lease or Rental Agreement
Notorized Affidavit from Landlord
Section 8 Agreement
Must be dated within the last 30 days.
Gas or Oil Bill
Electric Bill
Phone Bill
Cable Bill
Home or Rental Insurance Statement
Water/Sewer Bill
Property/Excise Tax
Valid Driver's License
Valid Government Issued ID
Valid Passport
Age Requirements: The West Springfield School Committee has adopted the following age requirements for entrance into Kindergarten and 1st Grade (File JFB)
Kindergarten Entrance: A child is eligible for entrance into kindergarten in September provided he or she reaches the age of five (5) by September 1 in that calendar year.
Grade 1 Entrance: A child shall be enrolled in grade one (1) in September providing he or she reaches the age of six (6) by September 1 in that calendar year.

Enrollment appointments are currently being held by appointment only on the 1st floor of the Municipal Office Building (26 Central Street).

Students who qualify as homeless as defined by the McKinney Vento Act, students in foster care as defined by the Every Student Succeeds Act and students who qualify under the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children will be entitled to immediate enrollment.

In order to be eligible to enroll in West Springfield Public Schools, a student must be a lawful resident of the town of West Springfield. Under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 76 § 5, the West Springfield School Committee reserves the right to terminate student enrollment and further, collect tuition, from any person who provides false information in order to obtain entrance into West Springfield Public Schools.
