Procedures Regarding Anti-Discrimination and Protection from Harassment

The West Springfield Public Schools conducts its programs and activities in conformity with Title VI, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Acts of 1973 and Massachusetts General Law Ch.76, section 5. It is the policy of the West Springfield Public Schools not to discriminate or condone harassment on the basis of age, race, color, gender identity, color, pregnancy, pregnancy related conditions, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or immigration status in any of its activities. This policy also ensures that students and staff should be free from retaliatory action and/or harassment based upon any of the foregoing attributes.

Anyone having a complaint alleging a violation of any anti-discrimination laws or regulations should immediately bring that complaint to the attention of the Principal or Assistant Superintendent, if the Principal is involved in the complaint. The Principal and/or the Assistant Superintendent will conduct a prompt and thorough investigation into the charges. In the event that the charges are substantiated, the administration will take appropriate disciplinary action.

Perrone, (11 Central Street, 2nd Fl., West Springfield, MA 01089 - Telephone 263-3299), has been designated as the employee responsible for coordinating the West Springfield Public Schools efforts to implement this non-discrimination policy.
