If you are a teaching assistant currently working for Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools you may apply through WS/FCS for the “Transition 2 Teach” program. 

With the support of The Winston-Salem Foundation, the school system has established a program with: 

• Winston-Salem State University that enables teacher assistants to become certified teachers in Elementary Education. This option is great for those who already have an associate's degree or higher.

• Forsyth Tech and Salem College that enables teacher assistants to become certified teachers in Elementary or Exceptional Children.  This option is best for those who only have a high school diploma or have not yet earned a degree.

• Tuition assistance for up to 75% of costs
