Students are expected always to cite their use of Generative AI when completing schoolwork. AI can be a powerful partner in learning, but it must be used responsibly. School Board Policy 5131: Student Behavior – Code of Character, Conduct, and Support says students cannot plagiarize—this includes turning in AI-generated work as if it were your own. Instead, AI should support critical thinking and creativity while students remain the true authors of their work.
How to cite your AI Use
The EVERY Framework helps you check if the AI's output is correct, fair, and safe. Because no tool should replace your own thinking, it is your personal responsibility to check (verify) what AI creates. Human oversight ensures you take ownership of your learning, allowing you to think critically and solve complex problems so your own genius can shine.
