Television

Production

This course is composed of two primary and integrated parts: 1. Classroom Instruction & Program Development and 2. Television Broadcasts. Often these two parts are combined seamlessly; at other times classroom projects and assignments will be separate from the broadcast but have the capability for use in part or in total on the air. Assignments will include but are not limited to: Journal assignments, news assignments, community pieces, writing assignments, commercials, documentaries, stop motion films, P.S.A.’s, and artistic films. Students will also receive general information on copyright and film-making techniques.

For the broadcast, students will learn the technology and tools used to produce a broadcast as well as procedures (editing, taping, scripting, etc.) essential to creating a successful show.
