About Galen Kemp

My name is Galen Kemp and this will be my seventh year teaching at Oak Grove School and my 16th year working in the Brattleboro Town School District. I grew up in Jackson, NH in the heart of the White Mountains. I lived on the central coast of California in San Luis Obispo for several years after college, where I met my husband. We moved to East Dover in Southern Vermont 26 years ago. I have a daughter, 27, who graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2019 with a degree in Marine Biology.

I earned my Elementary Education teaching certificate from The Upper Valley Educators Institute in Lebanon, NH. I also earned a BA in English from Saint Lawrence University and an AS in Marketing and Business Management from Champlain College.

I have a passion for reading and science, including games, movement, team building, and outdoor activities in student learning. I enjoy doing crafts with the students and playing games at recess with them. I work at the Mount Snow Training Center as a head coach for young ski racing athletes during the winter months.

A few of my favorite things to do are reading, mountain biking, golfing, paddle boarding, and alpine skiing.
