What Worked?

• Weekly check-in to keep up to date with the learning plan

• Having set times that work for me and Ms. Thielen to meet 

• Meeting with my mentor once every week 

• Having brainstorming sessions with Ms. Thielen  

What Didn't Work?

• Not having set meeting times at the beginning of the semester 

• Doing the interviews toward the end of the study 

• Struggle to understand the website formating 

What could you have done differently to make it better?

• Doing the interviews at the beginning of the study to help me have a better understanding of what to study further throughout the rest of the study

• Setting meeting days with Ms. Thielen at the beginning of the study 

• Asking mentor for more project-based assignments 

What could your FLEX team do differently to support you? 

• Better communication around grading standards 

• More structure around assignments

• I would recommend anyone considering an independent to go for it! through this study, I was able to learn a lot of valuable information about something I'm passionate about.
