I had many questions regarding my religion and I wanted to not find "answers" but have a better understanding of them.
My questions were basically regarding Creation, Evolution and Women.
Here's a link to my questions.
1) Was there any life before Adam? Does Quran say that there was no life before Adam?

Dr. Shabir Ali; Elightens about how Adam was the first human was never clearly mentioned in the Quran and God probably had chosen him to guide the people as a prophet.
Chapter 20, verse 104 in the Quran says,
"Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and guided [him]."
This is mentioned in the Qurans I am reading.
Dr. Nayak says; Adam was the first human.
Darwin's letter to his friend Thompson thompson in 1861 states that darwin hmself says that he can't prove his theory yet the theory helps him explain some parts of embryology, botany and zoology. the voyage of charles darwin to Calatropis Island on the ship named alachimess beagle was where he made The observation of bird's- pecking on the niches- beaks becoming long or short and this observation was made in the same species. which contradits to evolution of brds beaks getting longer or shorter.
If the person who wrote the theory(which is not a scientifically proven fact) doesn't have the proof to make it a fact, how am i supose to think it's the truth.
Here are some Verses from the Quran that I found interesting. They didn't really answer my questions but I had a better understanding of some of the points.
Here's a link to those verses.
These verses talk about how Jesus was not crucified and people have the wrong idea of his crucifiction, he was a pophet a messenger from God andthe one who they crucified was a lookalike. It also explains how men as heirs should get twice as much as thir sisters. Which was intersting to me as in Islam men are given more of financial responsibilities and that might explain the distribution of money but it did raise a question for me.
These verses refer to how intercource before marriage is considered Haram (forbidden). It explained the punishment for forbidden intercource and then later n the Quran the punishment was decreased in a way that if anyone repented they would be forgiven. ( Th Quran was revealed in a series of time, it wasn't revealed all at once). It also states that if a women is being accused of immorality than to prove that she has committed the sin the acuser will have to bring 4 witnesses and they have to testify that they saw the act happening.
I learnt how punishment was replaced by repentance and the acuser have to bring witnesses to prove their point.
I also contacted a scholar from Hadley mosque who answered some of my questions. I wasn't really satisfied with his answers but I got an idea of what I should be searching for.
Here are some of his answers t my questions.
One of my questions is as to why did Allah make Hawwa from Adam's rib?
The Quran doesn’t mention anything explicit with regards to Hawa being created from Adam’s rib.
“O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women.” [al-Nisa 4:1]
The Qur’an does not mention anything explicit with regards to our mother Hawa’ being created from the rib of our father Adam (peace be upon them both). Rather, it states for example, “And from amongst His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves, so that you may dwell in tranquility with them” [30:21]. Imam Qurtubi and others interpreted “from among yourselves” as meaning “from the same species,” that is, human mates
However there is a Hadith below of the prophet telling us to treat the women nicely and gently and to be kind with them. They prophet peace be upon him use to teach a lot of time by giving us analogy
Narrated Abu Huraira: God's Apostle said, "Treat women nicely, for a woman is created from a rib, and the most curved portion of the rib is its upper portion, so, if you should try to straighten it, it will break, but if you leave it as it is, it will remain crooked. So treat women nicely"
Is Adam the first ever human or the first messenger?
Yes Adam was the first human and the first prophet. There is difference between prophet and messenger and I can explain in later
Was Adam the first ever human on the planet or was he the first human to be sent on earth to guide the people who were'nt very humanly?
Adam was the first ever Human. him and his wife were living in paradise without any difficulties nor hardship. After they were tricked by the devil to disobeying the commend of Allah and ate from the tree,, they repented , Allah forgave them , then Allah brought them down to earth,
Why was no women a prophet?
The Muslim does not hesitate to believe in the great wisdom of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, in all that He does. One of His names is al-Hakeem (the Most Wise) and one of His attributes is Hikmah (wisdom).
Yes all the prophets were men.
Allah said And We sent not before you (O Muhammad) but men to whom We inspired.” [al-Anbiya 21:7]
However there’re many great women and Allah had mentioned in Quran and in the sunnah their high status
In some hadiths it is clearly stated that Khadijah was one of the perfect women. Allah used to send His salams to her
In some hadiths it is clearly stated that Fatimah will be the leader of the women of the people of paradise, apart from Maryam the daughter of ‘Imran.
Maryam is described as being a siddiqah (truthful) in the context of raising her and describing her virtues. Allah, may He be exalted, says:
“The Messiah (‘Isa (Jesus)), son of Maryam (Mary), was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother (Maryam (Mary)) was a Siddiqah (i.e. she believed in the words of Allah and His Books).
Asiiya the wife of Pharaon is mentioned in the Quran as being among the people of Paradise
An entire surah is named after Mariam
Why did Hazrat Muhammad peace be upon him married Ayesha who was juvenile?
Prophet Muhammed marriage to Ayesha was a divine recommendation. As far as her age , the Quran does not mention it. The scholars are not on the same page with her real age at the time of the mariage. But if it was something that the society during that time reprimanded the disbelievers would have blamed or said something. But no one during that time criticized it nor said anything about it.
Also the relationship between the prophet and Ayesha was a true love relationship documented and narrated in Hadith and seerah. It’s the Islamophobes in todays world who are trying to find anything negative about Islam but unfortunately they can’t
Do we believe that Jesus was nailed to the cross?
We don’t believe that Jesus was nailed
Quran tells us
“and their saying: ‘We slew the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary’, the Messenger of Allah - whereas in fact they had neither slain him nor crucified him but the matter was made dubious to them -
Are muslims allowed to draw living things? If not why?
Yes we are allow to draw living things out of necessity. Like to identify a criminal or for educational purposes.
There is Hadith that prohibits it and the scholars are disagreeing if this is about pictures or statues
The Sign of Allah in the progressive creation of Man from Clay then from Nutfah and thereafter
Allah tells us how He initially created man from an extract of Tin. This was Adam, peace be upon him, whom Allah created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. Ibn Jarir said, "Adam was called Tin because he was created from it.'' Qatadah said, "Adam was created from Tin.'' This is the more apparent meaning and is closer to the context, for Adam, upon him be peace, was created from a sticky Tin, which is a sounding clay of altered black smooth mud, and that is created from dust, as Allah says:
﴿ وَمِنۡ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦۤ أَنۡ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ۬ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ۬ تَنتَشِرُونَ ﴾
(And among His signs is this that He created you (Adam) from dust, and then -- behold you are human beings scattered!) (30:20) Imam Ahmad recorded from Abu Musa that the Prophet said:
(Allah created Adam from a handful which He picked up from throughout the earth, so the sons of Adam came forth accordingly, red and white and black and in between, evil and good and in between.) Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi recorded something similar. At-Tirmidhi said, "It is Sahih Hasan. ''
(Thereafter We made him a Nutfah.) Here the pronoun refers back to humankind, as in another Ayah:
﴿ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَحۡسَنَ كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ خَلَقَهُ ۥۖ وَبَدَأَ خَلۡقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنِ مِن طِينٍ۬ • ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسۡلَهُ ۥ مِن سُلَـٰلَةٍ۬ مِّن مَّآءٍ۬ مَّهِينٍ۬ ﴾
(and He began the creation of man from clay. Then He made his offspring from semen of despised water.) (32:7,8) meaning, weak, as He says:
﴿ أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ۬ مَّهِينٍ۬ • فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ۬ مَّكِينٍ ﴾
(Did We not create you from a despised water Then We placed it in a place of safety.) (77:20-21) meaning the womb, which is prepared and readily equipped for that,
(For a known period. So We did measure; and We are the Best to measure) (77:22-23) meaning, for a known period of time, until it is established and moves from one stage to the next. Allah says here,
(Then We made the Nutfah into a clot,) meaning, `then We made the Nutfah, which is the water gushing forth that comes from the loins of man, i.e., his back, and the ribs of woman, i.e., the bones of her chest, between the clavicle and the breast. Then it becomes a red clot, like an elongated clot.' `Ikrimah said, "This is blood.''
(then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh,) which is like a piece of flesh with no shape or features.
(then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones,) meaning, `We gave it shape, with a head, two arms and two legs, with its bones, nerves and veins.'
(then We clothed the bones with flesh,) meaning, `We gave it something to cover it and strengthen it.'
(and then We brought it forth as another creation.) means, `then We breathed the soul into it, and it moved and became a new creature, one that could hear, see, understand and move.
(So Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators.)
(and then We brought it forth as another creation. ) Al-`Awfi reported that Ibn `Abbas said, "We change it from one stage to another until it emerges as an infant, then it grows up through the stages of being a child, adolescent, youth, mature man, old man and senile man.'' Imam Ahmad recorded in his Musnad that `Abdullah -- Ibn Mas`ud -- said, "The Messenger of Allah , the Truthful One, told us
Process:
I issued a concordence of the Quran so I can find answers to my questions myself instead of a website from google. I used the concordence to search words that I wanted to search so for example I looked up the word mankind and women and found Surah Nisa which is a Chaper in the Quran dedicated to women. I read the whole chapter and interestingly the chapter focuses on many other aspects besides women that somehow connect to women. It was very interesting to read how that chapter also had some information about Mary and some information about Jesus. I also contacted some scholars and asked them some of my questions too.
Overall I had fun researching and learning about my religion and reading my book.
