Child development and the child's brain is important to know how it works when helping the child develop. Knowing what parts of the brain work in what area of the body it controls. Also knowing the development of the child and how you can help them learn more is really important because everyone learns differently and if you don't help now they will have development issues and need extra help in the future.
Why is it important to teach little children about Science?
Teaching Children about Science is very important to their development and growth. Science helps them explore, wonder, and It teaches them about the world around them, Even teaches them about the human body. Science helps children learn key life skills in different ways. Also, helps the child gain their own beliefs when observing.
Lesson #1- I Showed photosynthesis in this lesson I made my own poster showing photosynthesis and I went to the local library for the book I did this lesson with my class in ECE. After I read the book to them we planted our own flowers.
Proficiency: Constructing Explanations Using Models and/or Computational ThinkingPlanning, and Carrying Out Investigations: Seeds to plants! (Photosynthesis); plan to collect data regarding light filters.
Book: Plants Grow by Mary Dodson Wade
This is a video of part of the photosynthesis lesson I did with my ECE class.
Lesson #2- This lesson was for the three R's reduce, reuse and recycle. I used a book and a poster to present them and at the end together we used plastic bottles and other recyclables to make art.
Proficiency: Constructing Explanations Using Models and/or Computational Thinking: Recycling - material matched with process (shredding, heating...)
Book: Recycling Day by Edward Miller
Lesson #3- I presented mass and how it depends on the weight of something for how far it will go. I used hot wheels race tracks and two toy skateboards one with a weight on it and we had a graph up to show the difference.
Proficiency: Asking Questions and Constructing Explanations Using Models and/or Computational Thinking: The mass-distance, skateboard experimental description; data process and collection = computational thinking.
