Music Sub Plan: Nov. 4, 2026 

Task #1: Rehearse Semper Supra for the Veterans Day assembly on November 11.

Rehearse Winter Fantasy for our concert on December 8.  

Task #2: Play review center games: Set up the 4 game tubs as shown and set the timer for 5-7 minutes at each station. Use the list below to assign groups to each tub. 

Teacher note: if there is less than 20 minutes of class remaining, skip review game centers and switch to the option viewing "Blast!" below. 

Alternative task if there isn't enough time to do review centers: View "Blast!"

This show is performed by a marching band.  A marching band has 3 groups:

• Wind instruments (brass & sometimes woodwinds)

• Percussion instruments: marching drums/cymbals & standing percussion (xylophones, ect.)

• Color guard: dancers who toss & catch flags and other items. 

Each song in this performance is a different color.

Task #1: Sing The Army Goes Rolling Along for the Veterans Day assembly on November 11.

Sing Johnny Works with One Hammer.  Does this silly song stay the same speed the whole time?  What changes?

Move with Swirly Whirly Scarves.   

Be patient as each person gets a scarf!  

Remember, scarves are slippery and should never go under your feet!

How is this moving song different from Johnny?  

Is it faster or slower?  

Play rhythm sticks and shaker eggs.  

The teacher will ask each team (red/orange/green) to go and make their choices and sit back on our numbers.  There are plenty of instruments- everyone will get their choice!

Cool Down with Curious George- how do the players respond when George conducts faster?

Teacher, this is a good time to do restroom breaks and clean up!

Leader In Me Family Time: 1:30-2:40 p.m.

Co-teacher Mrs. Belanger will be arriving as soon as possible to lead the family time. 

Leader in Me Set Up: Set out following items:     

• Crayon tubs & coloring sheets for when students arrive

• Paper bags & delivery tags with snacks for students to deliver to their surprise teacher (not for students to eat!)
