Board Set-Up

Science Fair Checklist

Missing one part could be the difference between 1^st and 2^nd place!

• Journal: Make sure to include a journal where you recorded your results before you created the board
• Topic/title
• Question/problem: Written in question form
• Hypothesis: if/Then form, in 3^rd person- the scientist, NOT I
• Background Information :written in your own words/list sources ex. Web address or book title
• List of Materials: MUST BE IN METRIC AND HAVE SPECIFIC QUANTITIES

Examples include:

length/width: centimeter, meter (NOT inches, feet)

temperature: Celsius (NOT Fahrenheit)

Volume (liquid): milliliter, liter ( NOT tsp, cup, ½ cup)

Mass (weight): kilograms, grams (NOT ounces, pounds)

Speed: meter per sec./kilometer per hour (NOT miles per hour)

• Procedures: numbered, step by step, metric measurements
• Lots of Pictures (NO FACES!!)
• Chart/Graph: findings for ALL 3 trials
• Results: this can be the chart/graph
• Conclusion: Was the hypothesis supported or rejected? State what was learned.
