WEEKLY HOMEWOrk

We are continuing our normal weekly homework schedule. We have entered the 4th quarter so students are required to read 150 minutes a week. Due to MAP testing this week, we have decided to give the kids a break from their weekly read logs. We will continue again the following.

Weekly Learning Objectives

Math: MAP testing for math will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. We will continue to review math concepts leading up to these days.

Science: Students will MAP test over science content on Thursday.

Social Studies: At the end of 3rd quarter we wrapped up Chapter 10 lesson 4. Our focus over the next few weeks will be to cover required science content so students are prepared for the state standardized test in May. We plan to pick up with Social Studies Chapter 11 and 12 over the Industrial Revolution and immigration as well as the struggle the country faced to reform.

Writing/Reading: Students will take the MAP test on Monday and Tuesday over ELA, English Language Arts. Students will pick back up in scheduled units after the completion of the MAP test.

AMI Days

Our District has not used AMI for weather-related closures in the past, but if we exceed our six built-in snow days this year, the WSD will utilize AMI to keep students engaged in learning and prevent extending the school year into the summer break. On AMI days, families and staff will be notified through the regular district communication channels (phone call, text, social media).

AMI Materials

In the event that we may need an AMI day, students will be required to complete one task for each subject area to count for their participation and attendance for the day. After the completion of all the activities for the day, a parent signature will be required at the bottom of the bingo sheet. Students will turn the bingo sheet and any completed worksheets in for the day. Students have a copy of these materials in their binders already.
