Instantly read 15 or more sight words
Blend beginning of words with the rest of the word Ex: /b/ - all = ball
Identify beginning sounds in words and produce words with same beginning sound as a given word
Participate in class discussions and continue a conversation on a given topic
Reading simple pattern books
Tell, draw and write a whole story about something that happened with a beginning, middle and end
Count to 50 with zero errors
Count objects one to one up to 20
Identify numbers 0-20 in random order
Identify 2D shapes: square, circle, triangle, rectangle, rhombus, oval, hexagon
Identify 3D shapes: cube, cone, cylinder, sphere

By the end of third quarter your child should be able to:

Identify ending sounds in words
Identify all sounds in a given word
Counting syllables in a given word
Instantly read 25 or more sight words
Reading and retelling more complex pattern books (Click here for a suggestions on how to help your child read)
Identify the main idea of a nonfiction book and give at least three facts learned from the book
Counting to 100 with zero errors
Write numbers 0-20

By the end of fourth quarter your child should be able to:

Produce all 26 letter sounds
Write first and last name without a model, with correct letter formation
Instantly read at least 50 Kindergarten sight words
Read and write short vowel words
Fluency in Phonemic Awareness
Consistently write a sentence with finger spaces, capital letter and punctuation.
Orally count to 100 by 1’s and 10’s
Identify and write numbers 0-20
Subtraction within 10
Count objects to 20
Compare objects using measurable attributes
