Dress for Success

How people initially see you can influence your entire interaction with them. By dressing powerfully, you can make the most of every opportunity and set the stage for your greatest achievements.
A business suit or dress is generally considered the most appropriate clothing item for job seekers. However, you can still dress professionally and appropriately for a job fair even if you don’t own a suit.
Examples of job fair appropriate clothing for men: dress slacks in black, navy, or tan, button up shirt with or without a tie, black or brown shoes with dark color socks
Examples of job fair appropriate clothing for women: dress slacks or modest length dress/skirt in black, navy, or tan, button up style shirt or dressy blouse, flat or low heel dress shoe

You may want to get contact information for a business or write down details about an opening. Some employers will have open interviews and you will want to be prepared to fill out your application.
Bring a resume if you have one
Bringing a resume will help set you apart as a quality candidate. Bringing a resume shows you are prepared and provides employers with a snapshot of your skills and accomplishments. In your resume you will want to include skills, certifications, past work experience, and involvement in any school clubs or activities you are involved in.
Bring contact information for references
You will have the opportunity to apply for jobs on site. Most job applications require 1-3 personal or professional references. Find 3 people, not immediate family members, who are willing to be a reference for you. Bring their name, phone number, address, and email address so you can complete the job applications in full.
