Hello Green Tree Gator Families!

My name is Erika Kennedy, and I am the Educational Support Counselor (ESC) at Green Tree. I started my career in counseling as an Elementary School Counselor after graduating from UMSL with an M.Ed. in Counseling. I am now also a Professional Licensed Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. I was a school counselor for 11 years before taking on the role of Educational Support Counselor. I also worked in a group practice providing play therapy and telehealth to children. As your ESC, I'm here to meet individually with students and their families, push in to classrooms to support students, and consult and collaborate with school staff to meet the emotional needs of kids. I believe children learn, process, and cope through play, and therefore I use many different play activities and techniques to teach social/emotional skills and when working therapeutically with children.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns! I work closely and communicate often with the Green Tree counselors, administrators, and the School Support Interventionist, so no matter who you reach out to, you will have our full team's support! I can be reached by email at erikakennedy@wsdr4.org.
