Q:Can I borrow a Flexmike from another classroom if I forgot to charge my Flexmikes?

A: No. Every system is programmed to ONLY work with the components that came in the box.

Q:Can I switch the Media Connector with another classroom system?

Q: Can I add other components such as my laptop or my iphone to the system without disconnecting cables?

A: Yes, but only if you add another 3.5mm Audio Cable (Male to Male). You can up to three more devices such as:

  1. Laptops

  2. iPhones

  3. Assistive Listen Device

Your system only comes with two 3.5mm Audio Cables. These should not be disconnected from the ViewSonic.

Q: Does the district have extra cables?

A: No.

Q: Can I switch the Media Connector with another classroom system?

A: No. Every system is programmed to ONLY work with the components that came in the box.

02 Media Connector Diagrams

What does the 955 Access Media Connector Do?

The Media Connector wirelessly integrates classroom multimedia audio sources.

  1. TONE CONTROL: Adjust the audio tone, adding more bass or treble for a more rich or crisp sound.

  2. USB POWER INPUT: Micro USB end of the USB power cable to the USB Port

  3. REGISTRATION PUSHBUTTON & LIGHT

  4. TWO AUDIO INPUTS: 3.5mm stereo jacks send audio signal to external equipment. Examples: recorder or an assistive listening device

  5. FOUR AUDIO INPUTS: Connect Computer Desktop, Laptop, mobile tablet, mobile phones, DVD players, MP3 players, etc. These devices can be connected to the compact device which transmits the signal to the Redcat Access Speaker students in the classroom and to the virtual audience at home.

How to Install Media Connector to ViewSonic.

FAQs

Q: Does the Media Connector have to attach to the ViewSonic in my classroom?

A: if you have a ViewSonic, Yes, because your ViewSonic will power the Media Connector via USB and the Input and Output cables will create the correct connection through Zoom or any other video conferencing application.

Q: I have Prowise display, can the media connector be attached to that?

A: Yes. The prowise has the same inputs and Outputs as the ViewSonic Display.

Q: What if I don't have a ViewSonic in my classroom, can I connect the Media Connector to my desktop?

A: Yes. Turning on your computer will power the Media Connector or you can use the USB power adaptor instead.

Q: What if I just need to use Zoom without the Redcat Access System on my ViewSonic, how will I get sound and or mic input.

A: Connect your Webcam and change your Audio Settings in Zoom back to the Webcam.

03 How to Install the Media Connector to the Rear of the ViewSonic Trolley Mount

Run the USB and 3.5mm Audio Patch cables in between the mount and teh ViewSonic Display.

Q: Do I have to turn on my ViewSonic or Prowise to power the Media Connector?

A: Yes

Q: If I put My ViewSonic or Prowise in "Sleep" mode, will the Media Connector still receive Power?

A: Yes.

Q: What if I just need to use Zoom without the Redcat Access System on my ViewSonic, what sound and mic input do I select?

A: Connect your Webcam to the ViewSonic and change your Audio Settings in Zoom back to the Webcam.

Q: Where will my speaker be set up?

A: At first it will be placed on a flat surface near an outlet. Maintenance and Operation will eventually come to your classroom and mount the speaker to a wall at about 8' feet high and near an outlet.

Q: Will my old Redcat Speaker and Microphones be removed from my classroom?

A: Yes. Maintenance and Operation will remove it from your classroom when they install your new Redcat Access speaker.

Although the speaker has a power button, the Flexmike will always power on the speaker when you turn it on.
