Community Resources
These are resources you can access at any time. Many of these resources have a 24 hour a day/365 days a year support. If you cannot access the blue link, you can type in the website information into google for those specific websites.

If you need an appointment with counselor, please come to the Counseling Center office directly during school hours. After hours, use the list of resources for afterhours or seek help from a trusted adult.

Emotions are normal. Emotions are energy. So not dealing with emotions and feelings can have an affect on your body. Some emotions like anxiety and stress are an indicator to your body that you must take care of yourself. Emotions like these can become overwhelming and lead to emotional flooding, where a person is overwhelmed by feelings. The key is to recognize these emotions and create ways to express these emotions in a productive way.

I statements
If you need to work on how you communicate to ask for your needs to be met, here is a way to do so. I statements are a form of communication where it comes from your feelings. You can express the way you feel and what you need to help resolve an issue. This worksheet is the formula to communicate by using I Statements. It does take practice but follow the steps to communicate. Practice, practice, practice and it will become second nature; use this as much as you need.
Remember, with I statements, you are expressing yourself. The other person may not be able to do what you ask and that is okay. You will need to make decisions on what to do after you have had conversations with others but this is a great way to express oneself in a productive way.
