I would say high school wasn't like the movies we watch on television, high school is a place where you learn about yourself and find yourself.
After graduating from Tec-Voc I plan on working full time and attending Red River College later on to become a heavy machinery operator. In ten years I see myself having a home and working in the trades.
At Tec-Voc I hung out the most with Mr. Bostrom and in Study Skills with Brett, Liz, and Ms. Bell. My favourite teachers were Ms.Darbyshire, Mr.Bostrom, Liz, Ms. Bell, Brett, and last but not least, Ms. Falkenberg! My favourite memory about Tec-Voc is making the Jr. girls volleyball team my first year attending Tec-Voc.
I would like to give a shout out to my grandparents, Ethel and Percy, for helping me continue out here while they’re back home in Fairford. Also to my mother Mary and to my brother William for pushing me to keep going! I’d like to send out another big thank you to Ms. Falkenberg for helping me throughout these very few years I attended Tec Voc. Ms. Falkenberg showed and gave me a lot of support when I needed it the most, she was there and always gave me the best advice when times were tough! Last but not least, I’d like to thank my best friends BJ, Kailee, and Alesha whom I’m graduating with, and Kayli for sticking by my side even though she graduated last year.
After graduating from Tec-Voc I plan on returning to Tec-Voc as a Post-High student, where I may take IT or any programming related stuff (and maybe sneak into electronics class from time to time). In ten years I see myself working full time somewhere or still in school.
At Tec-Voc I hung out the most at the library and Mr. McG’s room. My favourite class and teacher was 315 electronics with Mr. Winters - he’s cool! The best thing about Tec-Voc is learning with my hands instead of pen and paper most of the time.
I would like to give a shout out to Mr. Winters for being laid back and overall an awesome teacher since I started taking his electronics classes. I hope you’re doing well!
After graduating from Tec-Voc I plan on attending the University of Winnipeg, where I plan on taking a combined major in Psychology (counselling) and English (publishing). When I am not in class, I intend to get a part-time job. In ten years I either see myself as a professional counselling psychologist or a publisher. I hope to either help people understand themselves or help people to find new worlds in the books that I help publish.
At Tec-Voc I hung out most in the science hall for grades 9-11 during lunch, but now I mostly hang out in the cafeteria. My favourite classes were English and Culinary. My favourite teachers were all the Chefs, Ms. Romo, Mr. Dueck, Mr. Harms, and Mr. Harack. The best thing about Tec-Voc is that students get to have a dual diploma. My favourite memory was basically the whole grade 9 year… well before COVID, anyway. Grade 9 was just really fun and a time when everyone knew everyone. The weirdest thing about Tec-Voc is that as we get older, we know less and less of who is in our grades. By grade 12, I only knew half of my graduating class.
I would like to give a shout out to my aunt and uncle for helping me with any school-related problems I had and for supporting me, but mostly for my aunt for making me go to school even when I didn't want to. I also wanted to thank all the teachers I've had at Tec-Voc like Ms. Romo, Chef Gloux, and Mr. Harms for teaching me all that they did and just being helpful over all.
