CLASS UPDATE
The school year is off to a great start!! We are working on setting up our class routines and expectations. As we begin the school year we have been exploring the themes of empathy, compassion, understanding and kindness. As the year progresses, we will continue to focus on these themes as it will be the foundation of our classroom environment.
We spent some time understanding what it means to be a learner who has a Growth Mindset. We have explored words such as effort, perseverance, risks, mistakes, courage and success. Ask your child to tell you what the "Learning Pit" is all about!
September 30th, 2023 marks the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which was proposed by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission as one of its 94 Calls to Action. This day honours the survivors of the residential school system, their families, and communities. We have spent a great deal talking about the meaning of reconciliation and why it needs to happen. As a class, we came up with actions we can make towards the path to reconcialtion. Come join us for our "Walk to Reconciliation" on September 29th!
