About Kim Zeglinski:
I am so pleased to be working with the École Luxton School Community again this year. I grew up in Winnipeg's "North End" community, first on Cathedral and later on Aberdeen. I attended Champlain, Strathcona, and St. John's High schools and I now live in the Luxton area. I graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1993 with a specialty in Early Years Elementary Education and taught for many years in Nursery-to-Grade 3 Classrooms as a term teacher and as a substitute. When I became a mom to two kiddos in 2001 and 2003, I took a break for awhile and then went back to teaching as a specialist teacher in the Winnipeg School Division, working in Reading Recovery, in the Interdivisional Student Services Women's Shelter Tutoring Program, and as a Resource Teacher. Beginning in 2014, I went back to university while I worked part-time, and received diplomas in School Counselling, Inclusive Education, and Expressive Arts Therapy. Prior to Luxton, I was school counsellor at École LaVérendrye & Inkster Schools.
In my work with students, their families, outside service providers, and my colleagues, I do my best to follow the Manitoba Sourcebook for School Guidance and Counselling Services and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association Ethical Guidelines.
