  • Students living within a school’s catchment area are automatically enrolled in their English catchment school.

• No registration is required if returning to the same school.

• French Programs (French Immersion or French Milieu)

  • Students living within a school’s catchment area will receive an intention form from their current school before February 17.

  • Families will indicate their choice of:

    • French Immersion

    • French Milieu

    • English

  • Based on the response, students will be automatically enrolled in the catchment school for their chosen program.

• Late French Immersion (Catchment Students)

  • Applications for catchment students open February 17, 2026 for the 2026–27 school year.

  • The application link on this webpage will become active on that date.

• School of Choice Applications (Within Division & Outside Division)

  • Applications open: April 6, 2026

  • Applications close: May 15, 2026

Schools of Choice

Students must be enrolled in their designated catchment school before applying to Schools of Choice. Applications are reviewed by the division’s Superintendents’ Department and do not guarantee placement. Applications may be declined due to capacity limits.

For the 2026/27 school year, Winnipeg School Division is not accepting Schools of Choice applications for the following schools (exceptions may be considered for special family circumstances):

• École Secondaire Sisler High School

• École Secondaire Kelvin High School

• École River Heights School

• École Lansdowne School

• École Waterford Springs School

• Brock Corydon School (English program)

• Fort Rouge School
