Class Instructors  &  Course Descriptions

Taunya James

Technology

In our Technology session, we will learn about generative AI and how to use Adobe Creative Cloud Express. Adobe Express is a cloud-based media creation application that makes it easy for students to produce impressive social media graphics, videos, and single-page websites. We will focus on using text to image AI, Animate from Audio, and creating interactive posters. It's time to get creative!

Lara Tingey

Engineering

Explore the world of light through multiple exploration activities. Lasers pointers, mirrors, optical illusions, decoding secret messages, prisms, lenses, microscopes, and more.

Ashley Remkes

Art/Geometry

In this session students will play with different shapes and colors to create a work of art. Picasso and Braque, two of the most famous Cubist artists, will serve as our inspiration. First, we will observe shapes around us. For example, the triangle formed when a hand rests on a hip or the variety of rectangles made by the architecture of a classroom. Next, we will study the color wheel and understand terms such as primary, complimentary, and monochromatic. And finally, students will spend the majority of their time working on their own creation as they combine geometry and color. Students wl take home their own artistic masterpiece along with a new understanding of geometry, color theory, and Cubism.

Rebecca Strebel

Art/Music

Using code.org, the students will use their creativity and imaginations to develop animated music videos called a Dance Party.  The students will use and develop coding skills (no experience necessary) to create their animated music video masterpieces with music, dancing, and animated characters!  And new this year, students will use AI to customize their dance party projects!!

Students will participate in two sessions a day for a total of four sessions.  Each session is 90 minutes.  All students will eventually experience each session over the course of the two days. Students will have a Technology experience, an Art experience, a Science experience, and a Music experience.

TRANSPORTATION

Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from the camp.
