Introducing........The Scale Beverage Challenge!!!!

If you pass the challenge, Mr. Kinney will buy you a 12 pack of your favorite beverage (non-energy, non-alcoholic).

Sophomore 60 Second Challenge: Play all 12 major scales, 1 octave, in 60 seconds or less.

Junior 30 Second Challenge: Play all 12 major scales, 1 octave, in 30 seconds or less.

Senior 60 Second Challenge: Play all 12 major scales, 2 octaves, in 60 seconds or less.

Audition Requirements:

Royal Band

1. 3 major scales at the director’s discretion.

2. Chromatic scale of 1.5 octaves up and down.

3. Sight reading rhythm.

4. 32 Count prepared excerpt

Jazz Band

1. 3 Minor, Major, or Minor Pentatonic scales at the director’s discretion.

2. Able to show swing and bossa nova styles.

3. Sight reading on preferred instrument.
