RMJH Cheerleaders
For those interested in trying out for the 24-25 school year.
You will need to have a standing tumbling trick as well as a tumbling pass of your choice. Standing tucks are not required but are encouraged. A strong standing back-handspring with straight legs, is important. Things to work on: strong, high jumps with pointed toes. Angles in correct positions with strong wrists. High strong kicks with pointed toes. Flexibility is important. Also, we want to see how easily choreography is picked up and you need to have strong dance skills.
TRYOUT INFORMATION
Before attending the tryout meeting, you will need to fill out the following form:
First Meeting
Thursday, March 7th at 3:30 pm the Library
All paperwork given at this meeting must be signed and returned to Kristie’s box in the office
for the student to be eligible to try out.
Clinics (Cost is $25.00)
CLINICS: (No video cameras or spectators allowed)
Clinics are April 8th and 9th with a mock tryout on April 10th
Tryouts are April 11th, 2024
Candidates are expected to attend clinics AND be in school on the day of tryouts.
Current 7th and 8th graders are permitted to tryout this year.

Requirements
You are permitted to tryout with a 2.0 GPA but once the constitution is signed, you must maintain the required 3.0 grade requirement during your cheer tenure.
You MAY have only ONE “N”, but NO “U’s”
A tumbling pass of your choice and a standing tumbling trick
Rallying which should include kicks and jumps
16 Counts Improv/Tumbling
We will teach you:
The tryout dance, angles, basic jumps to use in your rallying, 3 cheers (Offense, Defense and Neutral), and rallying. We will also teach you a jump series that you will perform at tryouts.
