This month our Student Government hosted “Kindness” week. Monday (Camo), Tuesday (Red/White/Blue), Thursday (Throwback), and Friday (Neon). Students got to participate in different kindness challenges throughout the week, such as service for others around the school, "heart attacking" teachers' and staff members' doors, and giving shout-outs to their favorite teachers on our school Instagram page.
The Chamber Orchestra was accepted into the state orchestra festival which is
the top 30 orchestras in the state. Jesse Gonzales was first chair in the district honor
orchestra which makes him the best in the district; Morgan Merkey was 2nd chair
Violin the district honor orchestra; Melodee Loyd was first chair flute in the district
honor band;The chamber orchestra received two I's at districts which is a perfect
score. You can't get anything higher. The Adv. Orchestra received a I- and II+;
The Adv. Band received two I-'s at the district festival; the orchestra received two
I's at state where the clinician judge was a professor from Mississippi State
University. We are so proud of them!

Kiwanis Theater Donation
Kiwanis was kind enough to donate $500 to our school theater program! With this support, students will have the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop their talents in a more enriched environment. We are incredibly grateful to Kiwanis for believing in the power of the arts and for investing in the future of our young performers.
Our Boys Basketball Team went UNDEFEATED and walked away with a Championship win! We are so proud of them and their efforts and their amazing coaches who helped them get there.

Students register for a variety of tests and presentations. Encouraging participation in FBLA or getting students to commit to this club can be quite challenging. The tests focus on different business concepts, while the presentations involve memorizing leadership, entrepreneurship, and business principles, as well as creating displays and inventions to showcase their skills, knowledge, and abilities to the judges.
Emilyn Allen, Addison Draper, and Brian Teo have consistently been top competitors at every level leading up to the state competition.
All of our FBLA-ers did great this year.

Our Cheerleaders did their annual fundraiser and sold Candy Grams! Students could buy a treat for themselves or send a Candy Gram to their freinds! It was a great way to spread positivity throughout the school.

Our FBLA did a great job at their competition last night: Emilyn Allen and Addison Draper took 3rd in their Marketing Mix Challenge Emilyn Allen took first in two tests: Digital Citizenship and Career Research Brian Teo took fourth in the Exploring Business Ethics Test Brian Teo took first in the Marketing Mix Challenge Congratulations Knights, you rocked it.
Our boys basketball team has been awesome this year! We have currently won our first 6 games with more to come. Go Knights!
Our Cheerleaders will be selling Candy Grams February 3rd-13th at both lunches. Send some love to your friends or just buy a treat for yourself! Prices range from 50 cents to 5$.
Girls Basketball
Mr. Hansen, our assistant principal, delighted students ans staff before break by showcasing his soprano saxophone skills! He performed popular holiday tunes, drawing everyone together to listen and enjoy. We are so lucky to have such a talented administrator who will share his talents with us!
Our Choir, Spanish, and German classes went around the school the day before winter break to sing carols to the school! Teachers and classmates enjoyed the impromptu performances, smiles spreading across their faces as they listened.
Our amazing counseling department, oops I mean Santa and his elves, came to visit NJOH! They came by every class and handed out candy canes. It’s a favorite tradition at our school we hope to carry on for years to come!
We had our Winter Assembly this month and it was a blast! We had performances from our choir, boy officers, and cheerleaders. We also played goggle basketball, teacher vs. students snowball fight, and a sledding race with air mattresses! Thanks to our amazing officers for preparing such a fun assembly for us.
Our officers hosted a winter dance for the students this December. The theme was Grinchman Gala!
1, 2, 3, 4, we declare a penny war! NOJH Penny War was a success! We raised funds to help our fellow Knights in need this season. 9th grade was the winner!
Our band and guitar classes have been having a blast lately with a fieldtrip to hear our district marching band, a guitar class where they composed a song, and their first concert of the year!

Members of the Utah Dual Immersion Program come to visit NOJH and give certificates to those who have been in the program for 9 and 10 years! What a great accomplishment.

To conclude the quarter, our National Honor Society organized a Halloween Stomp, and it was an absolute blast! What a fantastic way to wrap up the quarter!
Our amazing LIA group went to North Ogden Elementary to tutor students in Mrs.Burke's first grade class.
Students love joining in on our basketball tournament. Beyond the thrill of the game, the tournament also fosters friendships and school spirit!
This month we celebrated National School Lunch Week! National School Lunch Week is a celebration of the federal National School Lunch Program, which provides millions of children a nutritious meal each school day. We are so greatful for our amazing cooks and all the hard work they do to ensure our students and have a healthy and filling lunch at school!

Introducing our LIA presidency for the 2024-2025 school year! Miles Saucedo, Ana Gonzales-Reyes, and Scarlet Nay. We can't wait to see all the great things they accomplish this year.
Students were tasked with designing a house based on the basic shape and specific measurements of a "Bird House." Their creations could be anything from haunted houses to mansions and Victorian designs.
They began by sketching the flat patterns for their houses on paper and then transferred those designs to Foam Core sheets. Using scissors for cutting and X-acto knives for intricate details, they brought their visions to life.
To wrap up the pathway students used Cyanotypes as a way to create a "Blue" print as a way to cover some history.

This September, our school celebrated Spirit Week! The exciting themes included Minion Monday, Adam Sandler Tuesday, Western Wednesday, Teacher/Student Swap Thursday, and School Spirit Friday.
It was a blast seeing the participation from both students and teachers. Once again, Adam Sandler Day emerged as the favorite theme of the week.
To end Spirit Week we had our opening assembly. We introduced this years Officers and Cheerleaders, played games, and watched our Cheerleaders perform. We also gave our prizes to the students with the best participation in Spirit Week! Our Officers and Advisors did a great job planning this assembly we are so lucky to have them!
Our FCCLA group had a cupcake decorating activity this September. They got to bring a buddy who may be interested in joining FCCLA. It was a great oppurtunity for the group to get to know eachother better and bring in new members.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS). FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families.
Our Softball team has been hard at work this season. A big thank you to our amazing coaches Lisa Howell and Janette Blaisdell.
We will be having home games every Thursday in September so come on out and support our Knights!
Our Cheerleaders have been hard at work this year already with cheer camp, performing at our assembly, and supporting our softball team! They bring the good vibes to any event!
Here is our awesome Student Government this sumer at the North Ogden Parade! They made sure to find their favorite teachers in the crowd and spray them with water guns! We are lucky to have them and can't wait to see all the great things they accomplish this school year!

Our Knights started off their first day of school by being greeted by their fellow Cheerleaders and Officers with bubbles, cheering, and music! Let's make this an awesome year, GO KNIGHTS!
Our amazing PTSA held our first stomp of the school year! It was a blast, students joined in together to dance and make new friends. There was even a dance off! The stomp was more than just a dance; it was a celebration of togetherness and school spirit, setting a positive tone for the rest of the school year.

We are so excited to announce our newest organization at NOJH, Latinos In Action! Latinos In Action (LIA) offers an asset-based approach to bridging the graduation and opportunity gap for Latino students, working from within the educational system to create positive change. Our LIA class had a visit with Dr. Jose Enriquez who is the founder of LIA. The goal of LIA is to empower Latino youth to lead and strengthen their communities through college and career readiness. They accomplish this by focusing on four pillars: leveraging personal and cultural assets, excelling in education, serving the community, and developing leadership skills. We can't wait to see the great things they accomplish this year.
