Monthly Letter
October
This month we will talk about our classroom and school. We will also be doing some Halloween activities.
In math we will be working with the number concepts; same, fewer, more. We will be learning about, recognizing, and writing numbers 0-10 and counting to 20.
Keep working with your children at home. The homework response has been great. Give yourself a pat on the back. Remember to record reading days in the green book in the Eagle Folder. Work in the skill book (inside the eagle folder) every day for about 10 minutes so your child can pass the skills off.
We are still working on the letters of the alphabet. Keep practicing recognizing, naming, and writing letters. In October we will start the alphabet again reviewing the sounds the letters make and things that start with that letter. We will also learn to stretch words and write the sounds we hear spelling the kindergarten way (sound spelling). Keep on top of the word cards practicing the sight words we have covered so far. We will also be reviewing rhyming words. Watch for them as you read to your child. Also have your child practice writing his/her name with a capital at the beginning and the rest lowercase letters.
