What are you really wanting to know?
Click for a list of things that you must do to make it sync.
1. Check the Grade Sync page for any sync errors.
2. If there are no sync errors (or if the sync errors have been resolved and it still isn't matching), I then go to the Assignments page to make check if assignments are weighted. If they are, I make sure they match in PTP. If they match or if the course is points-based, I move on.
3. If the course is weighted, I double check to make sure the categories exactly matched or are linked correctly. Sometimes people will have a Test category in Canvas but an Exams category in PTP. Something like.
4. After that, if grades STILL aren't matching, I pull one student's grade list up in PTP and Canvas and compare the scores next to each other. Sometimes this reveals that an assignment might not be set to sync (something that could be quickly seen from the Assignments page in Canvas) or was set to not count towards final grades in Canvas but hasn't been marked to reflect that in PTP.
5. If grades STILL aren't matching, most of the time—if all of the steps before that have been done—it's a matter of doing a recalculation in PTP.
6. If grade STILL—even after all of that—are not matching, you'll need an old priest, a young priest, and a 20 gallon drum of holy water.
In Canvas: If a student switches class periods and their grades don't transfer from Canvas to PS anymore, do this.
In Powerteacher Pro: Click recalculate Final Grades.
