What is STEAM Camp?
STEAM Camp is a two 1/2 days enrichment opportunity for all Weber School District students who have finished grades 2-4.
Students will Engage in Hands-On Exploration to develop their own amusement park ride using
Science, technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
$50 registration fee-Spots are Limited
Class Descriptions & Instructors
Students will participate in three sessions a day for a total of six sessions. Each session is 50 minutes. All students will eventually experience each session over the course of the two days. Students will have a Technology experience, an Art experience, and a Science experience.
Step into the boots of a Lead Engineer to master the laws of physics and gravity! You’ll design hair-raising drops and death-defying loops as you build the ultimate amusement park ride from the ground up.
It’s time to "wire" the fun by bringing your midway games and rides to life with light and logic! Use real-world coding and circuitry to build interactive sensors that track high scores and trigger dazzling victory flashes.
Turn a "project" into an "experience" by becoming the creative visionary behind the park’s look and feel! Create a theme, design the skin of your roller coaster and transport your guests to a whole new world.
In addition, compete in warm-up challenges with a team, earn badges for your hard work, and maybe your amusement park plan will receive an award for being a park we'd all love to see in real life!
