Here is a tiny introduction to Camtasia. This is the video software I use. It meets all of my video needs. There is a clumsy learning curve. Why? It can do SO much. Since there are strategies you have never used before (probably), there is a necessary learning curve to figure out how to do these things: animations, video edits, audio edits, group files, slice, etc.
This great resource is phenomenal for video recording. Now I know not everyone is on YouTube. Valid point. However, if you ever need a two-minute tutorial to support a learner and you cannot provide that immediate instruction at the elbow, this resource is great to support that student in that moment.
For example, I use this to provide guiding feedback to students in engineering. Each student needs specific feedback on their project. When do you have time to talk to each student in class for 5 minutes? Not when you have 27 students in class. This fantastic software lets me bring up each student project and provide guiding feedback along that engineering project. When I'm done, I copy that link and email the video link to the student.

Head to the Chrome Web Store to grab this extension. If you would like your students to respond to learning content with video, this tool may be the solution for you.
Or, if you wish to make YouTube videos, then this may be the fit for you as well.
This software requires some training. It is not an intuitive software to start off with. I recommend that you watch the training video to get familiar with it.
