In Music class at Worthington Park Elementary, students in grades K-5 learn elemental music concepts and build their music skills. Many of our students continue to develop their musical skills and knowledge in middle and high school!
Perhaps even more important than developing strong musicianship, our goal is for our students find joy and confidence in making music, as well as gain an appreciation for their own musical cultures and music from around the world.

About Mrs. Garner
This is my 15th year of teaching music.
I have taught elementary, middle school, and high school students, but my favorite students are the ones at Worthington Park!
My primary instrument is Voice and I hold a Bachelor's of Music in Voice performance from OSU, as well as a Bachelor's of Music Education from OSU and a Master's of Music in Music Education from Capital University. I have formal training in Kodaly and Orff methodologies, as well as the World Music Drumming curriculum. I am always excited to learn more about teaching music and how to help students be their best selves!
I love cooking, walking outside, eating any kind of dessert, watching cooking/baking shows, and playing a little bit of videogames. I love spending time with my family. I sing weekly in the choir and as a soloist at my church, and I love making music!
I cannot wait to make music together this year! 🎶
