Josh is the head coach of the high school wrestling team. He started coaching for West Salem/Bangor in 2007. This will be his 11th season as head coach at the high school. He was previously an assistant coach at the high school for 4 years and was the middle school head coach/assistant coach before that. Brewer wrestled for the Lodi Blue Devils and was part of the 2004 Team State Championship team. He was also a State Qualifier individually that year. He has helped our program win 5 Coulee Conference titles, 3 WIAA Regional titles and 5 trips to WIAA Team Sectionals.
Tyler is starting his 10th year as an assistant at the high school and he is also returning as the Head middle school coach. Tyler is a former WB wrestler and is a member of the 100 wins club. Tyler has been with the program his entire life. He is loved by the team for his amazing personality and connection with all wrestlers. He is a two-time WIAA State Qualifier. Shrake was a team captain of 2 Coulee Conference titles. He helped the team earn 2 WIAA Regional titles and 2 Coulee Conference titles as a coach as well.
Warren is entering his 5th year as an assistant at the high school. He graduated from the program in 2010. He was a 4 year letter winner and a team MVP his senior year. Warren has been a supporter of the WB Catbirds his entire life and has volunteered numerous times at tournaments and other events we host. Warren has helped the team earn a Coulee Conference title as well as a WIAA Regional title as a coach.
Evan is entering his 4th season as an assistant coach for the WB high school wrestling program. He graduated from the program in 2022 as a member of 100 wins club with 139 wins. He is a 2-time WIAA State Tournament qualifier finishing 2nd and 6th. Wolfe brings an unstoppable style of top wrestling to our room. Evan was the captain of a WIAA Regional Championship team as well as 2 Coulee Conference team titles.
Ian is entering his 3rd season as an assistant coach for the WB high school wrestling program. He graduated from the program in 2023. McBride brings a very strategic style of wrestling to our room and he connects really well with our younger wrestlers. Ian was a part of a WIAA Regional Championship team as well as 2 Coulee Conference team titles.
Reid is entering his 3rd season as an assistant coach for the WB high school wrestling program. He graduated from the program in 2022. Rasmussen brings a very physical style of wrestling to our room and he works with our upper weights on a nightly basis. Reid was a part of a WIAA Regional Championship team as well as 2 Coulee Conference team titles.
Joe is entering his 2nd season as an assistant coach for the WB high school wrestling program. He graduated from the program in 2019 as a member of 100 wins club with 108 wins. He was a 6th Place finisher at the WIAA Individual State Tournament in 2019. He brings an extremely physical style of wrestling to our room and a non-stop motor on his feet. Hess was a team captain his senior year and after he graduated, Joe became a Marine where he continued to master his craft in hand-to-hand combat.
Trevor is entering his 1st season as an assistant coach for the WB high school wrestling program. He graduated from the program in 2025 as a member of 100 wins club with 137 wins. He is tied as the Most Pins in a season with 36 his senior year. His name is all over our records boards. He brings a strategic mindset on his feet and a pin at all times mentality on top. Arentz was a team captain his junior and senior year. Trevor led his teams to the WIAA Team Sectionals 3 out of the 4 years he was in high school.
