"Community-Based Learning (CBL) provides real-world experiences for students to utilize the community as an extension of the classroom. Through the CBL coordinator, students aim to secure a work placement or a combination of career exposures. Students set learning goals, document experiences, and complete a project. Working with a career mentor or community supervisor, students discover future career choices, which may include college plans. To participate, students must be mature and show personal responsibility with limited support. CBL is designed to fit a student’s individual schedule and the availability of a workplace opportunity. This can occur during school, after school, or on weekends or holidays of the school year." ~WRVHS Program of Studies 

White River Valley High School has a graduation requirement of 40 hours of community service. Students can participate in independent or group events throughout their high school years to meet this requirement.
