Chili Cook-off Tonight

We have been busy chopping vegetables for our entry in the chili cook-off tonight. We made a Vegetarian Chili with a little help from “the Pioneer Woman”. Hope you will be able to sample it tonight from 5:30-7:00 at the school. Check out the photos of us chopping veggies.

Post Office Trip

Special thanks to Dori Trudeau at the Stockbridge Post Office for an informative tour of the Post Office. Students purchased their own stamps from Dori and were able to use the canceller to stamp them. We practiced opening mail boxes and went in the back to see the tools and equipment she uses and what happens after our letter gets dropped into the slot.

FURBEARER KIT

We have borrowed the Furbearer Kit from the Vt. Fish and Wildlife Dept. to use in our classroom for two weeks. The kit contains pelts from many Vermont furbearing animals that we can examine and touch. Also included in the kit are skulls from these animals, track guides and scat sets. Ask your child to tell you about these items in the kit!

Tomorrow we will walk in the field and toward the path to the river looking for signs that animals were there. We will bring along the track guide to help us identify who made what tracks.
