Frequently Asked Questions

Tell me again, what exactly is the One Button Studio?

Basically, the One Button Studio, or OBS, is video production at the push of a button.

  1. You do the planning before recording.
  2. You use the OBS to record.
  3. You do the editing after recording.

How does the OBS enhance curriculum?

Through student-driven video production, the OBS enhances curriculum with student creations and 21st century skills. When students use the OBS, they have to plan ahead and solve problems on the spot. They need to communicate ideas clearly to a specific audience. Video projects can be used in all content areas at all levels, so the OBS's impact is far-reaching.

What are some uses for the OBS?

To name just a few ideas:

  • Class projects
  • Basic interviews (or creative ones)
  • Presentations
  • News reports
  • Language practice
  • Green screen

And so much more!

How is the OBS different than just using my phone?

The OBS gives you high quality lighting, sound, and recording. As you record, the software seamlessly writes your video to file. Once you share your recording with yourself, you can edit it in your favorite video editor (we like WeVideo) on your school Chromebook. A phone might be easy, but the OBS will help you make a better recording.

What do I need to do before recording?

Plan everything out.

  • Write a script or a storyboard.
  • Create a slideshow if you need one.
  • Collect and bring any necessary props or visual aids or costumes.
  • Make sure your plan makes sense.

How does the OBS work? Like, how do I record?

Watch the appropriate video on the Tutorials page. Also, there are instructions in the studio.

What do I once I'm done recording?

Share the files with yourself. Watch the appropriate video on the Tutorials page. Also, there are instructions in the studio.

How do I edit my recordings? How do I make a video that looks good?

Use WeVideo on your Chromebook. Warrior Run has school licenses with WeVideo, so you can use all the premium features, including green screen, subtitles, and more. If you haven't joined the Warrior Run group yet, or if you need help activating your license, see Ms. Brobst. (You need a specific URL and an access code -- Ms. Brobst can give you those.)

Where is the OBS?

It's located in the High School Library Classroom.

How can I schedule time in the OBS?

Just ask Ms. Brobst. Check the Calendar page, then see her in person or email her.

How did you fund the OBS?

This opportunity was provided by EITC funds from Muncy Bank and Trust and Citizens and Northern Bank through the First Community Foundation Partnership. Thank you!
