Dear Fellow Educator:
The Wachusett Regional School Committee invites highly-qualified candidates to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
Wachusett Regional School District is located among the beautiful rolling hills of Central Massachusetts, just north of Worcester and about 40 miles west of Boston. The district comprises five towns: Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland, and Sterling. The Wachusett District is the largest regional school district in Massachusetts and was first established in 1955.
The Wachusett area is a combination of suburban and rural communities that are known for their gorgeous scenery, abundant wildlife, and many outdoor recreational opportunities, including the Audubon Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary, the 400 acre Moore State Park, Wachusett Mountain Resort, and the Wachusett Greenway Trail. The area is also known for its proximity to Worcester, the second largest city in New England and a center for industry, commerce, and higher education. Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland, and Sterling are each justifiably proud of their vibrant businesses, economic development, downtown areas, farmer’s markets, shopping and dining choices.
