Wachusett Regional School District Strategic Plan
Update 2/23/24: Thank you to everyone who contributed through surveys, focus groups, and planning! Please review The Wachusett Regional School 2024-2027 District Strategic Plan!
Outline of Strategic Planning Process & Actions
A three year strategy is an invaluable tool for guiding the improvement initiatives, educator practices, leadership actions, and resource allocations across the district. By engaging in a thorough and collaborative process, the resulting district plan will provide a shared focus and commitment to achieving our desired results of improved learning outcomes for all students.
The strategic planning process will entail the following components. A planning committee consisting of approximately 25 stakeholders from across the school community will create an updated set of district guiding statements (mission, vision, core values) and select 3 to 5 strategic objectives for the coming three years. The district’s administrative leadership team will meet concurrently to draft strategic objective recommendations to the planning committee.
To provide the planning committee and administrative team with updated information and views from all district stakeholders, data will be gathered through scheduled focus groups, continuation of staff protocols, and written surveys.
Using the data gathered, the planning committee will adopt strategic objectives, which the administrative team will use to create corresponding strategic initiatives (action steps). In total, these objectives and initiatives combine into a cohesive strategic plan which will be presented to the full school committee, with the intention of it then being a valuable tool for guiding the district as it builds its budget and plans for the 2024-25 school year and beyond.
