Ahhhh.... Module 5 is a welcome break from heavy-duty addition and subtraction strategies! We will be working on money (especially word problems), standard measurement, and a return to data and graphing.

Family Math helps you help your child. These are our current topics:

LANGUAGE ARTS (Writing & Spelling)

We will return to working in all 3 major genres of writing: narrative, expository (information), and opinion. During April we enjoyed writing different types of poems - I think perhaps "Shape Poems" were our favorite! Spelling skills are focused on syllable types and trickier vowel teams - some make more than one sound: oo as in book, or oo as in pool, for example.

"Housekeeping"/Odds and Ends

Home~School Folders should come back and forth between school and home every day. Please review your child's papers and don't let them pile up inside the folder. Often there may be notices from me or the office in there, too, that would be easy to miss!

Please remember to send your child with a water bottle each day! 💦
