Ten Tors
Ten Tors is back! This year, Writhlington will be taking part in the Ten Tors Event in Dartmoor.

Library
We encourage pupils to take an interest in the many different genres and styles of reading materials that we have in our library. Pupils have the opportunity to read a wide variety of literature, which can include books that contain older themes, which you may feel is not appropriate for your child.
If you do not wish for your child to be reading literature of this nature, please click here to complete the form to opt out.

Information and Reminders
ParentPay
There is a small 'buffer' zone available for students to get a meal if there is no credit in their account. Please check ParentPay regularly to ensure that accounts are in credit to avoid this happening. If you would like the 'buffer' to be removed from your child's account, please email finance@writhlington.org.uk.
Please ensure that your child's catering account does not have a debit balance from the end of the school year. Please top it up online or contact Mrs Scott in Finance to pay in cash.
Uniform
We will continue to allow students to wear PE kit on the days when they have PE. It is very important that students are wearing the correct PE kit on these days. The following changes now apply:
All year groups should have a school PE jacket. Hoodies are no longer allowed as school uniform.
All year groups should have branded PE bottoms. This can be either school shorts or school jogging bottoms.
Homework
We are making a few changes to the way we set and record students' homework this year. Students' homework will now be set on Talaxy which will allow you to have better insights into what they are doing. Homework will be set on a more regular basis and consolidated in lessons to ensure that all students engage and develop their understanding of what they are doing at home. Please look out for notifications on Talaxy and support your child with their home learning. We will talk more about this on the welcome evenings over the next two weeks.
Assessment Preparation
In order to help your child best prepare for upcoming assessments, we are sharing assessment preparation sheets. Please see this page for more information.
