My goal as Co-Mayor is to ensure everyone gets the best high school experience possible, to create a stronger sense of spirit and community within WCI! I hope to gather feedback and input from student body and staff to grow upon our old events, as well as create new ones for everyone to enjoy. I will ensure we keep connected through our online events, and social media accounts if we cannot be together in-person. Finally, I want to work towards more recognition of all our diverse and talented student body. More recognition of students and staff would include showcasing on Instagram, and In-school so that we can connect with a wider audience and get to know names and faces of all our fellow Vikings.
Top 3 Involvements at WCI:
I have gained many memorable and fun involvements over my time at WCI so far. One of my top ones would have to include: performing in spirit assemblies, Remembrance Day assemblies, ACF, and competitions with the dance team and getting to show the routines that we work so hard on and getting to put on a show for our fellow vikings. Another one of my favourite involvements is planning as well as participating in events anywhere from Semi, to Grade Nine Party and Feeder School Leadership Conferences with ABCD and getting to learn the work and responsibility that all our school leaders put in to make our events great, and to getting to see and enjoy the final product. Finally, my top favourite involvement would be getting the opportunity to represent WCI at the Ontario Student Leadership Conference in 2019. It was truly an unforgettable and inspiring experience that helped grow my love for leadership and taught me so many valuable lessons.
Clubs and Teams:
In grade nine I started off my high school career by joining Junior Leadership with the idea of ABCD in mind for my future. I also joined the Dance Team and have been dancing, teaching and choreographing for the past 3 years. In grade ten I began ABCD and have since been a part of it doing things like planning events, brainstorming new events and plans, promoting events, and getting to know so many amazing people. Last year I also joined the Relay for Life Committee and got to begin planning our Relay for Life event until we got shut down due to Covid. Finally just this year I joined the newly founded Spirit Club.
3 Fav Accomplishments:
Thinking back on all of the things I’ve accomplished and been proud of the three that stand out the most are as follows: three years of successful academics and honour roll at WCI within all my classes, competing at Dance Canada in Niagara Falls with our school dance team getting high scores and successful results as a team as well as placing 1st and receiving the highest scoring routine for our school with my solo, and lastly getting to travel to Orlando to compete in Disney World Resorts for Nationals with my dance studio. Each of these are things I am proud of and honoured to have gotten to experience.
