Report cards go home February 9th. Please review it with your child :)
To avoid any hurt feelings, if your child chooses to give out valentines, please consider giving them to all the members of the class. A class list will be shared via email. I am able to photocopy valentines that your child can use if this would be helpful for your family, just let me know. Please remember exchanging valentines is optional. Friendly reminder that we will not be sharing edible treats during the school day to accommodate allergies and dietary preferences.

Welcome to Grade 5!
I am so excited to welcome you and your child to Grade 5! and be their teacher this yeat! This year is an important and exciting step as students take on new challenges, develop independence, and grow as leaders in our school community. In Grade 5, we focus on building strong academic skills, fostering curiosity, and encouraging students to take responsibility for their learning. Families play a vital role in this journey, and I look forward to partnering with you to make this year a positive and successful experience for your child. Together, we’ll make Grade 5 a year of growth, discovery, and celebration!

WORK BEING SENT HOME
Student work will be sent home on a consistent basis in their "FINISHED FOLDER". This includes work that is practice done in class and work that will be assessed. Be sure to review it to see how your child is doing! If you have any questions, please reach out to me!
Although I won't be assigning much "homework", there will be plenty of opportunities and resources to practice our skills at home. At the beginning of each month, students will be sent home with extra practice packets. Although this is not mandatory, it is very beneficial! Students who complete the extra practice packet can turn it in for teacher feedback!
