Introduction
My name is Carson and my 2024 passion project is sharing my love for nature and the outdoors, and encouraging other people in my community to get outside and share their experiences of nature. I also wish to make people more informed and educated about the beautiful world around us.
The outdoors has been proven to boost mental health and is unfortunately under threat by pollution and over-development. These are a couple of reasons why it's important to utilize and respect the outdoors well we still have it.
This website will have a lot of content on it, and the home section will be this page. If you are interested in watching some videos and learning about the local ecology of Southern Ontario click the learning button. The photo section will have photos from our community.
Why Care About Nature
The environment plays a critical role in our health, and the world around us. It is proven that spending time outside lowers stress, and anxiety. It boosts mood making us happier. Several studies have found that going for a walk in a natural setting lowers brain fog, and resets the brain from fatigue. On top of mental well-being and mental health, spending time outside, and being active has positive benefits on our physical health, keeping in shape, and having fun.
Pollution, habitat destruction, and climate change negatively impact our well-being and the well-being of nature. These problems are a threat to local wildlife and plants, and are an issue to humans as the results of climate change can cause health complications and Learning about the outdoors allows us to make more informed decisions, to protect it. It helps us understand the beauty of local ecosystems, the impacts of human activities, and the solutions available to address environmental challenges. By staying informed, we can advocate for policies that promote sustainability, adopt eco-friendly behaviors in our daily lives, and contribute to positive environmental change.
